Course Overview
Learning outcomes:
The course participant is able to…
- Identify the indications for hemi-/minihemilaminectomy +/- fenestration
- Ventral slot
- Dorsal laminectomy (LS)
- CSF puncture
- Muscle and nerve biopsies
- List complications of the above mentioned procedures and recount how to avoid them
- Describe the procedures for the above described surgical approaches
- Operate the surgical approaches of the above mentioned surgical procedures
- Critically reflect the best approach to the clinical condition of the patient – surgical vs. non-surgical and advise the best surgical procedure for the individual patient
- Design a treatment plan for the individual patient beyond surgery
