Lab Diagnostics: Cytology II
Program Director:
Principal Course Master(s):
Course Overview
This second cytology course will focus on areas of cytopathology that remain clinically relevant but are typically assessed by more experienced professionals. Topics will include the cytology of internal organs (e.g. thoracic structures, liver, spleen, pancreas, adrenal glands, gastrointestinal and uro-genital tracts), cytology of various fluids (e.g. nasal flush, tracheal wash, BAL, synovial fluid, CSF), and other anatomical districts (e.g. musculoskeletal system, ocular samples, histiocytic disorders). A few sessions will also be dedicated to cell blocks, immunocytochemistry, and other advanced diagnostic investigations related to cytology.
Similarly to CYTOLOGY 1, every day the participants will be presented with cytology cases to examine with individual microscopes and to solve in order to put in practice what they learned during the course
