Education and Experience

– graduated from Ghent University (Belgium) in 1996
– small animal rotating internship at Ghent university from 1996-1997
– private practice owner combined with a part-time function as surgical assistant at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital – Ghent University
– surgical residency at Utrecht University (the Netherlands) from 2001-2004
– worked in several veterinary referral clinics in Belgium 2004-2005
– started working at the surgery department of the Small Animal Teaching Hospital at Ghent University in 2005
– became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2007
– became head of the Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery Clinics in 2009

Teaching Experience

– is actively involved in student training since 2005
– speaking engagements in international scientific meetings (list limited to 2021-2024)
