Education and Experience
Anna Oevermann is a veterinarian who earned her degree from the University of Giessen, a Dr. med. vet. from the University of Zurich, and a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists (DiplECVP) at the University of Bern. She currently serves as Professor of Veterinary Neuropathology at the Division of Neurological Sciences (DNS, https://www.neurologicalsciences.ch/en/) at the University of Bern, where she has been based since 2006.
Teaching Experience
Anna Oevermann has been actively involved in teaching veterinary neuropathology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has served as a lecturer for the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS) since 2006.
Research
Anna Oevermann’s research focuses on advancing diagnostic neuropathology in animals, exploring the pathogenesis of neurolisteriosis, and developing targeted Listeria monocytogenes-based vaccines. Her group’s work is supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation and various private funding bodies.

Anna Oevermann is passionate about collaborative research, enjoys working closely with her veterinary and scientific peers, and is committed to teaching veterinary neuropathology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
