Education and Experience

Andrea graduated with honours from the University of Turin, Italy, in 2014. After a period in first-opinion practice in London, he completed a rotating internship at the University of Glasgow, followed by a specialist internship in soft tissue surgery and interventional radiology at Fitzpatrick Referrals Oncology and Soft Tissue.
He subsequently joined Fitzpatrick Referrals, initially working briefly in medical oncology before completing an ECVS residency in small animal surgery from 2019 to 2022. He became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2024 and was subsequently recognised as a Specialist in Small Animal Surgery by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Andrea currently works as a small animal surgeon at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists in the UK, where his clinical caseload is divided between orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. He also co-founded and heads the hospital’s osteoarthritis clinic.
His main clinical interests include surgical oncology and the management of osteoarthritis, with a particular focus on integrating surgical and conservative treatment strategies and regenerative medicine. He is also trained and certified in veterinary acupuncture, which complements his interest in multimodal management of chronic musculoskeletal disease.
