Individual Courses and Comprehensive Study
The ESAVS Cardiology program consists of 5 one-week modules. The course masters and instructors are Diplomates in Cardiology (ACVIM/ECVIM) and internationally recognized specialists in their field.
Cardiology I
The first module of the Cardiology program focuses on diagnostic and therapeutic options, such as heart murmurs, ECG seminars and ECG practicals, thoracic radiographs, biomarkers, cardiovascular drugs and the most common diseases seen in private practice.
Cardiology II
In this module we strengthen the already acquired knowledge from course I with more ECG practical sessions, more cardiovascular diseases and further diagnostic and therapeutic options. Also, there will be the first echocardiographic practical sessions.
Cardiology III
This course is dedicated to echocardiography. In the morning sessions are lectures about echocardiographic standard views, spectral Doppler, color Doppler, as well as measurements and diastolic function. Additionally, the most important diseases and how they are diagnosed with echocardiography is covered. The afternoon sessions are echocardiographic sessions in small groups, where the participants will learn the practical aspects of performing echos.
Cardiology IV
This module focuses on advanced echocardiographic techniques. As in module III there are advanced lectures about more exotic cardiovascular diseases, diastolic function, case presentations and much more. In the afternoon sessions there is time to practice echocardiography with 5 Diplomates in Cardiology.
Cardiology V
As being the last level of the ESAVS cardiology program, this advanced module presents updates of all diseases and new diagnostic and therapeutic options, as well as demonstrating diseases which were not covered in the previous modules. It is a mixture of practicals and theoretical sessions including interactive presentations of unique ECG and Echo cases.
