Teaching Experience
Poppy has been head of the Small Animal Surgical Residency programmes at both Dick White Referrals, Cambridgeshire, UK and the Royal Veterinary College. This role involved education and pastoral care of the surgery residents. Poppy has been a lecturer in Surgery at two large University teaching hospitals where she taught a large variety of both undergraduate and postgraduate students in small animal surgery. Poppy continues to teach small animal surgery residents and interns as well as visiting students in her current role. Poppy also lectures around the world in cardiac surgery and general soft tissue surgery. Poppy has taught on ESAVS soft tissue II as well as soft tissue V (thoracic surgery).
Research
Poppy’s main area of research is in cardiothoracics. Poppy has several publications in the works currently as well as multiple papers published in the peer reviewed veterinary literature, including:
