Education and Experience

Dr. Beckmann is a European specialist in veterinary neurology and a lecturer at the Vetsuisse Faculties, University of Zurich, Switzerland. She holds the Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Neurology (ECVN) and has extensive clinical and academic experience in small animal neurology.

Her main clinical interests include advanced diagnostic imaging, medical and surgical management of neurological disorders, and the treatment of epilepsy in dogs. Her research focuses on the application of high-resolution MRI techniques, including diffusion tensor imaging, arterial spin labeling, and resting-state functional MRI, to improve the understanding of canine epilepsy.

Dr. Beckmann is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervises residents and trainees in veterinary neurology. She has worked in specialist referral centers in Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Germany and contributes regularly to continuing education in veterinary neurology within Europe.
