Faculty Small Animal Internal Medicine
Nephrology and Blood purification techniques
Education and Experience
Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Bern, Switzerland, in 1997. Following a doctoral thesis in small animal surgery, worked in private practice in Lausanne, Switzerland. Then performed a rotating internship at the University of Bern, followed by a residency in small animal internal Medicine at the University of Bern and Louisiana State University, USA. After this, performed a fellowship in nephrology and hemodialysis in Bern (supervised by Dr. Thierry Francey) and University of Davis, California (supervised by Dr. Larry Cowgill). Since 2006, working as a faculty member at the small animal Teaching Hospital University of Bern, specialized in nephrology and blood purification techniques.
Teaching Experience
Teaching and supervising students, interns and residents since 2006. Numerous lectures national and international, including for the Hemodialysis Academy (for veterinarians) and the ACVNU Core Curriculum program.
Research
Main research focus includes acute kidney injury, blood purification techniques, and canine leptospirosis.
