Education and Experience

Lluís Ferrer obtained his DVM degree (1981) and a PhD (1985) at the University of Zaragoza – Spain and a Master in Animal Pathology (1983) at the Veterinary School of Hannover (Germany).
In 1994 was Board-Certified Dermatologist by the European College of Veterinary Dermatology.
Since 1985 has been lecturing Pathology and Dermatology at the Veterinary School of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain), where he has also been Dean of the Veterinary School (1992-1998), Vice rector for Research (1998-2002) and Rector of the University (2002-2009).
Between 2012 and 2017 was Professor of Dermatology at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, at North Grafton, MA (USA).
He has been visiting professor at the univeristies of Utrecht (The Netherlands, 1987), Guelph (Canada, 1992), Lisbon (Portugal, 1995), and Montreal (2009-2010).

Georg graduated from the Veterinary University of Vienna in 2006, where he also completed a rotating small animal internship and a three-year ECVS approved residency program in small animal surgery. 2015 Georg moved to UK and worked as a specialist small animal surgeon in international renowned referral centers (Animal Health Trust, Dick White Referrals). In 2018 Georg returned back to Austria where he is CEO and head surgeon of a busy referral centre. Beside his clinical work, Georg has published articles in peer reviewed journals and has lectured and been invited as a speaker at numerous conferences and CPD courses at national and international level.

Research

Among other topics, his investigations have been focused on cutaneous infections (canine leishmaniosis, demodicosis, staphylococcal pyoderma), canine atopic dermatitis, canine perianal furunculosis and on the genetic background of skin diseases.
