SUMMARY:Avian Medicine\, Session 6
DESCRIPTION:Help! The bird has a seizure!\nSeizure management in birds – emergency and diagnostics\nNeurological emergencies pose particular challenges in avian medicine. This session discusses the recognition of seizures\, initial stabilizing care\, and diagnostic pathways toward identifying underlying causes. \nAims:\n– Recognize clinical features of seizures in avian patients\n– Learn emergency stabilization protocols and safety considerations\n– Develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans for neurologic disorderse \nPreparation material:\n• Documentation on avian central neurologic system anatomy and physiology\n• Case studies presenting seizure emergencies \nLive workshop:\nStepwise clinical discussion from seizure identification to diagnosis and ongoing management.

SUMMARY:Dermatology\, Session 10
DESCRIPTION:Otitis externa and media in dogs and cats. – Dr. Manolis Saridomichelakis\nOtitis media is one of the perpetuating factors of otitis externa and is especially common in chronic and relapsing cases. Furthermore\, there are some less common cases of otitis media that may not be accompanied by otitis externa\, such as primary otitis media with effusion in dogs and middle ear polyps in cats. Neurological signs and extension of inflammation into the inner ear can occur. Management depends on the cause and differs from that of otitis externa without otitis media \nLearning outcomes:\nRational diagnosis and medical management of dogs and cats with otitis media. \n

SUMMARY:Feline Medicine\, Session 8
DESCRIPTION:Dyspnoea – a challenge that can be managed!\nThe dyspnoeic cat presents a real challenge in clinical practice — and things can easily go wrong. This session explores how blood tests and other diagnostic strategies can help avoid frustration and improve outcomes.\nLearning Objectives:\n– Understand how recognizing breathing patterns can help identify the type of disease\n– Learn an easy approach to interpreting radiographic lung patterns\n– Follow a structured diagnostic pathway for better clinical success\n– Discover how blood tests can narrow down differential diagnoses\nPreparation material:\n• Overview of breathing patterns and how they help localize the problem (including short videos with explanations)\n• Brief introduction to radiographic pulmonary pattern\nLive workshop:\nCase 1: Got the sniffles? The many faces of cat flu. Dyspnoea does not always indicate pulmonary disease — and cat flu is more than just conjunctivitis. Let’s review a case that make us think twice.\nCase 2: Dyspnoea – When furosemide fails. If there’s no response to furosemide\, increasing the dose won’t help. Let’s discuss effective alternatives.\n

SUMMARY:Cytology\, Session 5
DESCRIPTION:Approach to Liver Cytology: common and uncommon cases\nLiver cytology is a useful diagnostic tool in the clinic setting\, but its interpretation can be challenging at times. In this discussion\, we will learn about liver cytology through real case examples. We will discuss normal vs abnormal findings and correlate these changes with the clinical presentation and other clinicopathologic findings. \nLearning outcomes:\nAfter the webinar\, participants will be able to: \n-Understand a general approach liver cytology\n-Recognize common and uncommon cytologic findings and understand their clinical significance. \nSpeaker: Sarah Jacobson DVM\, Resident in Veterinary Clinical Pathology\, Texas A&M University (USA)\n
