Meredith, Anna, Dr. (University of Edinburgh, UK)
Graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1991, after first obtaining a degree in Physiological Sciences from the University of Oxford in 1986. After a year in general practice she joined the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh in 1992 as Lecturer in Zoo and Exotic Animal Medicine. Here she set up and is Head of the Exotic Animal Service, teaching exotic and zoo animal medicine to veterinary undergraduates and running a first opinion and referral clinic for exotic animals and wildlife. She is the Head veterinary surgeon for the Royal Zoological Society of Scotlands Edinburgh Zoo and is one of the Secretary of States Zoo Inspectors. Anna is senior Vice-President of BVZS. In 2003 she was awarded the BSAVA Blaine Award for outstanding contributions to the advancement of small animal veterinary medicine or surgery, for her work in promoting rabbit medicine.
Anna has published widely in the field of exotic animal medicine, and is co-editor of the BSAVA Manual of Exotic Pets.
