Johnson, Robert, Dr. (University of Sydney, Australia)

Robert Johnson graduated from the University of Sydney in 1977. He manages a small animal, wildlife and reptile practice in Penrith, NSW, Australia with his veterinarian wife Jane. Robert is a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists (Feline Medicine) and holds a Certificate in Zoological Medicine from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. He is the President of the Unusual and Exotic Pets Group of the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA), committee member of the Feline Chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS), member of the Policy Council of the Australian Veterinary Association and Australian and NZ representative to the International Committee of ARAV. Robert’s research interests include the in situ conservation of the Fijian Crested Iguana, Brachylophus vitiensis and the collection of baseline haematological and biochemical data of captive and free living Australian herpetofauna. Robert lectures in reptile and wildlife medicine at James Cook University Townsville, Australia. His pets include Spike the skink (Egernia depressa) and Potty the cat (Felis catus). In his spare time Robert draws cartoons.
